Freight Clarity, operated by Freight Clarity, Inc., helps freight carriers find shippers in their territory. Doing that takes some of your data and a lot of data about freight facilities. This page says exactly what we collect, why, who processes it for us, and how to get it deleted — in plain language, because you should be able to actually read it.
The short version: we collect what the product needs to work and nothing else. No advertising trackers, no analytics scripts, no selling your data, and signing in never puts you on a marketing list.
What we collect, and why
Your account.Your email address (it’s how you sign in — we use one-time codes, no passwords), your name, your company’s name and type, the equipment you run, and your MC number if you choose to add it. We ask for these because reports are built around what your company can actually haul.
Billing.Payments run through Stripe. On our side we store only Stripe’s reference IDs, your subscription status, seat count, and trial dates. Your card number never touches our servers.
What you do in the product. The territories you set up, the reports you run, the facilities you save or hide. That’s the product working, stored in our database. We don’t run analytics or tracking scripts on top of it.
Sessions. You stay signed in for up to 30 days, or until you haven’t used the product for 7 days, whichever comes first.
The waitlist
If you join the waitlist on our landing page, we collect your email, name, company name, equipment type, and MC/DOT number. We use them for one thing: to tell you about Freight Clarity — access, launch, and product news. Any email we send will include an unsubscribe link, and you can have your waitlist entry deleted any time by emailing support@freightclarity.com.
Cookies
Only the essential ones: the cookies that keep you signed in, plus one that remembers you finished account setup (it expires after 30 days). That’s the whole list — no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies, no third-party trackers.
Who processes data for us
We don’t sell your data to anyone. We do rely on a small set of services to run the product, and some data passes through them to do their job:
- StripePayment processing. Card details go to Stripe directly and never touch our servers.
- LoopsSends our email, like sign-in codes.
- InfrastructureHosting for the application, our database and sign-in, and the server that runs facility research — plus error monitoring, so we find out when the product breaks.
- Data providersLicensed business-contact data, public business listings, and web search, used to research facilities (see the facility-contacts section below).
- AI servicesUsed to research facilities and freight activity. Facility and business-contact information passes through them during that research; your account data does not.
- MapboxMaps and location search. When you type a location into a search box, that text goes to Mapbox to find the place.
When something breaks
We use an error-monitoring service to find out when the product errors. Error reports include your account ID and your organization’s ID so we can find what broke — we’ve turned off the collection of IP addresses and browser headers that error tools often grab by default.
When an error happens in your browser, we keep a recording of what was on screen — including the moments leading up to the error — so we can reproduce and fix the bug. Text you typed is masked in these recordings, and sessions without an error are not kept.
Data about facility contacts
This section is for the people inside our reports — logistics and shipping contacts at freight facilities — who never signed up for Freight Clarity and may be reading this because a carrier reached out to them.
What we hold:professional contact information — your name, job title, work email, work phone, LinkedIn profile, employment history, and work location. Business information only; we don’t deal in personal or consumer data.
Where it comes from: licensed business-data providers and public sources. We use it for one purpose: helping freight carriers reach the people who make shipping decisions.
How to be removed: email support@freightclarity.comfrom your work address and we’ll delete your contact record from our database within 30 days. Two honest caveats: copies a customer exported before your removal are outside our systems and beyond our reach, and removing you from our database doesn’t remove you from the upstream provider we licensed the data from — so other companies may still receive it. When we confirm your removal we’ll include instructions for opting out at the source too.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while you have an account. To delete your account and its data, email support@freightclarity.comand we’ll complete the deletion within 30 days. We may retain records we’re legally required to keep, like billing history.
Deletion is currently a person doing it carefully, not a button. Same 30-day promise either way.
Security
All traffic is encrypted in transit. Data access inside the product is controlled per-organization at the database level, and payment details are handled entirely by Stripe. No system is perfectly secure, and we won’t pretend ours is — but we designed it so the sensitive things (your card, your sign-in) are held by the specialists.
